    How to set up an account

    1. Click the link you receive in your email to open the TOB forum.

    2. Click the link “Register.”

    3. Click “I agree to these terms.”

    4. Create a username (does not need to match your email address), type in your email address and create a password. Click “save.”

    5. Confirm your password by typing it in the box provided. Click “verify” in the confirmation code box and follow directions given, then click “save.”

    6. You will receive an email in order to activate your account. The email will list your username and password for future reference. Click on “click here” to activate your account. You should see the forum page and a note that your account has been activated. You may click “home” to begin using the forum.

    How to read a topic or post

    1. Click on the heading under topic (left side) in order to see all the posts listed under it.(Only the most recent post shows up on the right side under "Last post.")

    2. Click on a post in order to read the contents.

    3. Scroll down to read more contents if they are available.

    4. If you click on the name under a post it will show you a profile page for that person. To return to the topic or post simply click the back arrow on your browser or click home to begin again.

    How to post a comment or question

    1. Click on the topic of interest under one of the headings.

    2. Click “new topic.”

    3. Type in a title where indicated. Then tab or move your cursor underneath the editing bar and type in your message in the text box. Below the text box in the center you may click “preview” to see how your message will display, then click “send.” If you want to edit your preview, simply move your cursor back to the text box and make changes before posting. If you don’t want to preview, simply click “send” right away to post your message.

    How to post a reply

    1. Click on the post of your interest along the right side of the screen. (If you click on the name under a post it will show you a profile page for that person. To return to the topic or post simply click the back arrow on your browser or click home to begin again.)

    2. If you don’t want your reply to have a title, scroll down and type a message in the text box under “quick reply.”

    3. If you want a title, click at the top left on“post reply.”

    4. Type in a title where indicated. Then tab or move your cursor underneath the editing bar and type your reply in the text box. Below the text box in the center you may click “preview” to see how your reply will display, then click “send.” If you want to edit your preview, simply move your cursor back to the text box and make changes before posting. If you don’t want to preview, simply click “send” right away to post your reply.

    5. If your reply is posted and you later want to edit it, click “edit” on the right side of your posting and change your reply, then click “post” to post the edited version.

    How to delete a reply

    1. You may delete your own posts/replies, but not that of others.

    2. To delete go to the far right of your post and check the “x” button.

    3. You will see a screen asking if you want todelete the post. Click “yes” or “no.”

    4. If you click “yes” your post will be deleted.

    How to post a web link or video

    1. Click on a topic or post.

    2. Follow directions for “How to post a topic or reply.”

    3. Copy the link you would like to post.

    4. SHORTCUT - in the text box, right-click and paste the link.

    5. If the shortcut doesn't work, in the editing bar, click on the icon right before “YouTube” which says “insert a link” if you hover over it.

    6. Right click and paste next inside the URL pop-upbox. Type a description (optional) and then click “insert.”

    7. Click “preview” and then click on the link inthe preview to test if it works.

    8. Click “send” to post the link.

    9. You may follow similar directions for a YouTube video, but click on the “YouTube” icon instead.

    How to post a photo/image

    1. Click in the tool bar on “host an image” (three icons left of the YouTube icon – hover over and it will say “Host an image.”)

    2. In the pop-up box click on “Select files.”

    3. Another pop-up screen called “Choose file to upload” will show locations where you have files.

    4. Click on the file with the picture you wish to add and click “Open” in the bottom of the box.

    5. The image will show up in the original pop-up screen. To the right of the box will be a blue box with an up arrow. Click on that blue box.

    6. Several url locations will show up next to your picture. Above those click “Insert all.”

    7. Click out of the pop-up box and back on the forum screen. Scroll down and click “Preview.”

    8. If the image is correctly placed, click “send” and it will be added to the forum.

    How to print a post

    1. In the upper right of the screen click on “Share.”

    2. If you want to print, click on the print icon.

    3. Print as usual.

    How to share a post

    1. In the upper right of the screen click on “Share.”

    2. Scroll down to the email icon (or facebook,etc.)

    3. If you click on email, type in the email address of the person to which you wish to send and then type in your own email.

    4. Click on the “I’m not a robot” and follow instructions for the test given.

    5. Click send. (You may need to close the tab after your message sends.)

    6. The person receiving the email will have a link that opens to the post you sent.

    What do I do if my attachment is too large?

    If your attachment is too large, we suggest you give a clear description of what you have available to share and ask other teachers to email you for an attachment, etc., if they are interested.

    Return to Home page

    At any time you can return to the home page by scrolling to the top of the screen and clicking the “home” icon on the upper left or by scrolling to the bottom of the screen and clicking the “home” icon on the bottom left.
